Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Charles “Charlie” Joseph Cuccia, 59, of St. Bernard Parish, La., who passed away at his home with his family surrounded by him on Tuesday, August 9, 2011.

Visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2011 from 9-11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Metairie, La., Friday, August 12 at 1 p.m. under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. James Reeves will officiate at the service.

A native of St. Bernard, La., he was retired after 33 years of devoted service to the St. Bernard Parish School Board serving as a custodian at Chalmette Senior High School. Charlie has been the most dedicated New Orleans Saints fan for 45 years. All who knew him were touched by his love and devotion to his family. There are no words to describe the loss we all feel. He was a most cherished gift from God and we will mourn this loss forever. The world was a better place because of Charlie. God has the most special of all angels with him now and we were blessed to be a part of his life.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph Whitney Cuccia Sr. and Geraldine “Mamie” Pardo Cuccia; and one brother, Joseph Whitney Cuccia, Jr.

He was the cherished brother of Rita Cuccia (Winston) Armond, Josephine Marie Cuccia (Hayward) Fleming and James W. Cuccia, Sr. Charlie was a loving uncle to multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
