Other expected speakers include Mississippi Chief Justice Bill Waller Jr., Gov. Haley Barbour and Mississippi Bar President Nina Stubblefield Tollison.

Planning for a new justice building began in 1993 when the Legislature authorized creation of the Court of Appeals and the Administrative Office of Courts.

Construction began in 2001 and was completed in stages. The courts and other entities moved into the facility in 2008.
