St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1421 Goodyear Blvd., Picayune will host a Spring Choral Festival on Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m. St. Paul’s is privileged to recognize and celebrate contributions to the vocal arts by elementary school choral groups. Choirs from Nicholson, Roseland Park, Westside, and Southside Upper Elementary Schools will each present selections under the leadership of their directors.
Sara Musselman, the music teacher at Nicholson Elementary, says, “I am very proud of the work our Nicholson students have put into this choir. I know they are just as excited as I am to perform and hear the other choirs sing.”
Earl Fox, the music director of Southside Elementary says, “The Concert Choir is made up of 5th and 6th Grade students who audition and meet twice a week. They have also participated in the Hub City Festival in Hattiesburg.. They are really looking forward to the event.”
St. Paul’s recognizes the value of music education and appreciates the time and effort involved. Each participating student will receive a commemorative medal, and each participating school will receive an engraved plaque. A reception honoring the singers will be held in the Parish Hall following the program. The festival is free and open to the public. All are invited to attend.
