The Mississippi Supreme Court will hear arguments May 12 from Amanda Goforth, a former Newton County teacher convicted of sexual battery for an alleged improper relationship with a student.
Goforth was sentenced last year to serve 30 years in prison on two counts of sexual battery.
Prosecutors say Goforth, who taught science at Newton County High School, was allegedly involved with a 15-year-old female student.
