Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Life Worship Center for Houston Tommy Kirkland, 68, of Picayune who entered Heaven on Monday, May 9, 2011 in Picayune.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home and also on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 9 a.m. until service time at Resurrection Life Worship Center.

The Rev. Allen Hickman will officiate the services, assisted by the Rev. Butch Brown and the Rev. Billy Dowdy.

Burial will be in West Union Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Picayune, and a member of Resurrection Life Worship Center, Tommy was also a member of the Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Tommy was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be truly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Shirley Mitchell Kirkland; his parents, Houston Kirkland and Golda Pearson Kirkland; and his brother, Charles Kirkland.

Survivors include: his spouse, Glenda Fendley Kirkland of Picayune; his children, Thomas Barry Kirkland, Lisa Kirkland Loveless and husband Van, Jason Lee and his wife Lisa, and Joanna Kirkland Wilbanks and husband Chris; his eight grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Mary Jim Burchfield, Margaret (Sonny) Wedgeworth, Patricia (Terry) Miles, Janice (Oliver) Martin, Richard (Karen) Kirkland, Martha (Butch) Brown, Terry (Suzanne) Kirkland, and Pam (Mike) Aultman.
