Harrison County Deputy Justin Branning has been named the state’s top DUI officer for making the most drunk driving arrests in Mississippi in 2010.
Branning arrested 297 impaired drivers last year.
Branning was one of only 10 officers who made 200 or more DUI arrests. Second was Gulfport police officer Paul Rhodes with 270 DUI arrests, followed by Philadelphia police Cpl. Eric Lyons with 230 arrests.
The annual awards are sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, the Mississippi Office of Highway Safety and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
