Road dedication set in Pascagoula

A portion of U.S. Highway 90 in Pascagoula will be dedicated Thursday to a police officer who died in a 2006 motorcycle accidents while on patrol.
Patrolman Terry Michael Byrd, the son of Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd, started with the Pascagoula department in 2000 and died in a motorcycle accident on March 27, 2006.
The ceremony hosted by the Mississippi Department of Transportation will be held at 6 p.m. at the Pascagoula Senior Center.
The segment of highway to be dedicated begins on U.S. 90 from Chicot Street in Pascagoula to Mississippi Highway 611 in Jackson County.
