Pennies For Your Park II “Build Week” kicks off on Tuesday, April 12 at 8 a.m. in the morning.
CO-Chair, Reba Beebe says, “We need as many volunteers to come out and help us from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day; we need skilled and unskilled, strong backs and not strong backs, we need everyone! Everyone needs to just come out and register each day.”
Childcare is provided and volunteers will be fed.
Beebe says, “This is “Extreme Makeover” Picayune style! We have people from all over that are calling to ask about this build. We have 17 youth coming in on their Spring Break from Portland, Maine, to help with our project.
Dawn Bechtel, Volunteer Coordinator, says, “Americorp volunteers are coming in from PRCC, and we will also have Highland Hospital nurses who will be out there the whole time, coming to help. Our entire community is really coming together and I know the Lord will honor our efforts.”
Beebe and Bechtel both note their appreciation of the Sheriff’s department allocating Trustees to help with the project.
Beebe says, “We had 30 Trustees help with the demolition Friday, from the County. They were terrific and there are more coming out to help during this week.”
