A grand jury has indicted an Ocean Springs neurologist and pain-management specialist on a charge of unlawful possession of oxycodone.
The indictment accuses Dr. Mathew Wallack of possessing between 10 and 20 doses of the controlled drug in April 2010. Police have said that Wallack came into a Biloxi hospital seeking emergency treatment and became irate, but further details have not been release.
After his arrest, officers with the Jackson County narcotics task forced searched his Ocean Springs clinic and said they found more than 40 bottles of medications that Wallack had prescribed to patients.
Defense attorney Michael Crosby said Wallack intends to contest the charge vigorously.
