The City of Poplarville has scheduled two public hearings to be held at City Hall on Monday, one at 5 p.m. and the other at 5:30, to discuss proposed new zoning and subdivision regulations.

The hearing for new zoning ordinances will begin at 5 p.m., and the new subdivision regulations will be discussed during the 5:30 hearing.

City leaders hired the firm to revise the city’s plan for zoning and land subdivision regulations. Under the proposed plan, Mayor Billy Spiers and the board of aldermen are hoping to guide, direct and control future growth of Poplarville in a responsible way.

The board encourages the public to attend the hearing so residents will be aware of the proposed plan and have a voice in the revisions.
