Two men have been arrested in the deaths of a Terry couple, according to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s department spokesman Lt. Jeffery Scott says investigators believe the couple had been dead inside their home for two days and a 7-month-old child was left alone when the bodies were discovered Wednesday.
Scott identifies the shooting victims as Robert Carter and his fiancee, Renitria Mark. Scott says the infant boy was placed in Department of Human Services custody and hospitalized for dehydration.
Scott says Carter’s brother, Deon Carter and Travaris Christian, both of Jackson, have each been charged with capital murder. They were being held in the county jail pending an initial court appearance.
Scott declined to discuss any motive for the deaths.
