Authorities say a fire that destroyed a south Mississippi cigarette store likely started in the kitchen area, but no injuries were reported.

A call came in shortly after 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the Jr. Cigarette Discount store.

When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was pouring from the building. Because the store wasn’t open and the doors locked, firefighters had to break through the front glass to reach the flames.

Investigators don’t know the cause yet.
