The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear an appeal from Jeffrey Jackson, who was convicted of murder in the shooting death of a Delta State student at a Shaw nightclub in 2003.
Three other people were hurt in the shooting and testified against Jackson at his trial.
Jackson was convicted in 2007 in Bolivar County and sentenced to life in prison. His conviction was upheld by the Mississippi courts in 2009.
Prosecutors say Eric Mack of Olive Branch bled to death from a gunshot wound in the abdomen.
Prosecutors say the incident began as a fight inside the Ventura Lounge in Shaw and moved outside where the shooting occurred.
