Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11 am. at White Funeral Home of Poplarville for Haschal “H.A.” Smith, Jr., 53, of Poplarville, who passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 in Poplarville. Burial followed in the Poplarville City Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born December 31, 1957 to the late Haschal and Billie Hunter Reed Smith. He was a member of Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association and a longtime cattle rancher. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a Master’s degree and retired from the USDA as a Farm Loan Agent.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Haschal “H.A.” Smith, Sr., and Billie Hunter Reed Smith.

Survivors include: his wife, Jennie Box Smith of Poplarville; and one step-son, Michael Templeton of Diamondhead, Miss.

Visitation was held Tuesday, January 11, 2011, 5:30-8 p.m. at White Funeral Home of Poplarville.
