Corinth officials say the city’s pooper-scooper ordinance is being ignored in some downtown areas and the messy trails are not going to be tolerated.
A city ordinance requires pet owners to clean up the excrement of their animals from public and private property — and provides fines for those who don’t.
Kim Ratliff, a city projects director, said the city knows the culprits are more than one dog owner. She says recent cold weather kept the smell down.
The city is putting up signs around town to remind dog owners to clean up after their pets.
