Gulfport police are closer to completing their move to a new, three-story headquarters complex.

The staff started operating out of the downtown complex last Friday but there were still plenty of boxes to unpack Tuesday and the dispatch team was still preparing to move in.

Patrolman Gregory Anderson spent part of Tuesday showing off the rooms and equipment the Gulfport department has never had before. Those include a section just for K-9s, a garage to hold vehicle evidence, and a secure area to transport prisoners.
