Five teenagers have been jailed in Lamar County after allegedly burglarizing and vandalizing a house in the Lake Serene area one night, then coming back for more the next night.

Lamar Sheriff Danny Rigel says incidents leading to the arrests began last Wednesday night. There was a burglary and also damage to a pool house behind the residence. Rigel says in The Hattiesburg American that a neighbor saw a car leave the area just after 8 a.m. Thursday, so a detail was set up that night in case the suspects returned.

They did. And Rigel says deputies moved in when the pool house was set on fire. Charges against the teens include first-degree arson and burglary.
