Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for R.V. Hayes, 79, of Carriere, who passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010  in Carriere.

Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Billy Ferrell will officiate at the service.

A native of Wiggins, Miss., he was retired from Kaiser Aluminum. R.V. was a Baptist and a member of Moses Cook Lodge and a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Jesse Hayes and Almedia Pierce Hayes; his wife, Eloise Jones Hayes; and two grandsons, Glynn and Jeremy Hayes.

Survivors include: his children, Robert Hayes and wife Clair of Carriere, Wayne Hayes of Picayune and Anne Stewart and husband Kevin of Carriere; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Brandon Craft, Liana and Chris Meyers, Melissa and Isaiah Kent, Chad Stockstill, and Penny and Chris Carter; 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Doris Jones and husband Lavert of Lumberton.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
