Miss. teacher charged with enticing student
A Wayne County High School teacher has been arrested on charges of enticing a student under the age of 18 for sexual purposes.
Sheriff John Stein Farrior said Lara Wells is free on $5,000 bond after her arrest earlier this week.
Farrior says the investigation began when school officials notified his office that a teacher was participating in numerous text message conversations with a student.
Farrior says investigators recovered the text messages, which the sheriff says were “sexual in nature.”
He says Wells was arrested after a probable cause hearing.
Farrior says the case is expected to be presented to a grand jury in January.
It was not immediately known whether Wells has an attorney.
