Authorities are still trying to notify relatives of a man whose body was found in a drainage ditch off Interstate 59 near Meridian.

Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler said Sunday the man had been identified, but he wouldn’t release the name until relatives were notified.

The body was sent to the state Crime Lab in Jackson Friday, and Cobler says he’s still waiting a report to determine the cause of death.

The body was found face-down off the northbound side of I-59, about six miles south of Meridian.
