Thomas Wayne Manghelli passed from this life and began his eternal life on Friday, October 15, 2010.
He was born to Bernard and Pauline Manghelli on August 13, 1933 in Elwood, Ind.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Janice; and his grandson, Christopher Todd Frierson.
He is survived by: his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ricky Frierson; his son, Greg Manghelli; his grandchildren, Torri Frierson and Thomas Manghelli; and his great-grandchildren, Chance and Chase Frierson. He is also survived by two sisters, Genevieve Cox of Nebraska and Roseanne Leisure of Florida.
His parents came to America from Italy and his Italian heritage was important to him. One of his favorite sayings was, “In Italy love means “eternal love”, family is everything and friendships last for life.” He lived this as he cared for and guided his great-grandsons, Chance and Chase.
In the past few years, it was evident that he had instilled these same virtues into Chance and Chase. During his stays at Covenant Health and Rehab, Chance and Chase not only visited and cared for him, they took care of and visited with many of the other patients.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends until the time when we will meet him in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held, Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Roseland Park Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Local arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
