The 2010 fall Picayune Praze concert was held Saturday, October 3, in Jack Read Park.

Co- organizer, Ray Ritchie, says, “We were excited about all of the people that came out to enjoy the day with us. There was a constant crowd and people were really having a good time. All of the bands enjoyed their sets and we expect the next concert in spring to be bigger and better. I can’t say enough.”

“People were calling and getting us on Facebook asking about admission costs, etc. I got to tell them, “It’s totally free!” People came from all over and it was so great to see the enthusiasm for our vision.”

Ritchie says, “ For a little history on this, Picayune Praze was originally started by Tricia Gipson, bass guitar/ vocals for the local Christian Rock Band, ROCK THE FLOCK.  The first concert was held at Jack Reed park on October 11, 2008, and 4 bands, ROCK THE FLOCK(Picayune), THE FOULON BROTHERS(Picayune), MORE THAN STATIC( Hammond, La.), and SPINNERBAIT( Albany, La.), came together and played to a crowd of about 150 folks.

I became involved when Tricia contacted me to ask about having SPINNERBAIT join the fray.  (I was their Promotions Manager at the time).  Tricia and I spoke after SPINNERBAIT’s set and discussed doing this again, but on a larger scale.  I told her that I felt that God had given me a vision of large crowds and great CHRISTIAN MUSIC in the Picayune area.  We began planning soon there after.”
