The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company has announced plans to locate production operations in Pearl, eventually creating 95 jobs.
A news release from the Mississippi Development Authority says the project represents a $17 million investment for the company, which is an industry leader in lawn and garden products. Officials say the facility will be located in the former Clorox plant.
Dave Swihart, a Scotts senior vice president, says the location will help maximize transportation efficiencies and allow rapid response to consumer needs.
The release says MDA worked with company and local officials to facilitate the project, and provided assistance through the Jobs Tax Credit program along with other tax incentives.
