Cooper Power closing facility

Cooper Power Systems, citing global economic conditions, plans to close its Lumberton facility.

The plant will relocate production to other locations by the third quarter of 2011.

According to 2009 information from the Area Development Partnership, Cooper Power Systems employed 87.

This is the second industry in Lumberton in as many weeks to announce it’s closing.

The Land O’ Lakes Purina Feed plant that produces bagged livestock feed will close Oct. 29, leaving 18 workers without jobs. The plant’s production and customer service will move to other locations, primarily Arcola, La.
