Closed supervisors’ meeting video now off website

A video of a Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors meeting where officials discussed garbage fees during a closed meeting has been removed from the county’s website.
The action came Monday after a local resident raised questions with the board about the meeting and video. The video was of the board’s Sept. 29 meeting.
Supervisors had closed the meeting to discuss personnel matters.
However, local resident Bill Sharp told supervisors that recording equipment was left on and supervisors could be heard talking about garbage fees. Such a discussion would not be allowed under state law.
County administrator Joe McCraney says one of the supervisors’ attorneys told a county employee to remove the video.
