A Biloxi health center is one of 143 community health centers nationwide that will split $727 million in federal funds.

The Coastal Family Health Center is included in a federal program to help community centers handle construction and renovation. The money is included as part of the overhaul of the health care system.

The Department of Health and Human Services says the Biloxi center estimates that its $2 million award will help it serve about 4,900 new patients.
