A man convicted in the starvation death of a 2-year-old boy has been sentenced to an additional 14 years.

Thomas Kelly pleaded guilty in March to manslaughter and felonious child neglect in the May 2008 death of Markqice Hood.

Judge David Strong sentenced Kelly then to 10 years on the child neglect charge, but delayed sentencing on manslaughter until the case was resolved against Kellys co-defendant and the child’s mother, Kimberly Hood.
