A bowling alley that was a favorite hangout for generations of University of Mississippi students has been destroyed by fire in Oxford.

Flames were reported about 4 a.m. Wednesday at The Lanes and Brass Monkey Pub and Grill on West Jackson Avenue, about a mile west of the Ole Miss campus.

The bowling alley used to be called Kiami’s.

Oxford Fire Chief Mike White says the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
