Bennett J. “Ben” Lacour III

Bennett J. “Ben” Lacour III, 48, joined our heavenly Father on Thursday, September 9, 2010, after a five month courageous battle against cancer.
Ben is survived by: his loving wife, Cindy M. Lacour of 20 years; sons, Ben Lacour IV and Brandon Lacour; step-daughter, Jessica Rieffel; parents, Bennett J. Lacour, Jr. and Carmelite Galyean; step-parents, Jessica Lacour and Ike Galyean; sisters, Laurie Lacour Bonnaffons and Lisa Lacour; brother, Brent Lacour; eleven brothers and sisters-in-law, 32 nieces and nephews.
Ben is also survived by many family and friends, including his St. Louis King of France and Entergy families. Ben’s enthusiasm, dedication and expertise were respected throughout his 30 years of employment at Entergy.
Ben was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the SLKF Men’s Club. He and his wife co-chaired the Bucktown Seafood Festival for many years. They also were recipients of the St. Louis King of France Medallion Award. He had a passion for Nascar, the N.O. Saints, and fireworks. He was a loyal man who had a great love for his family, and always put the needs of others before himself.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Louis King of France on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 1 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until service time. A visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Monday, September 13, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
