A 19 year-old Picayune native died early Sunday morning in a one vehicle accident in Hancock County.

Two young men were in the vehicle when it left the road for an unknown reason, 20 year-old Michael R. Breaux of Waveland and 19 year-old Devin Tullier of Picayune.

Hancock County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Bobby Underwood said the accident took place on Lowerbay Road, at 1:55 Sunday morning. He said at that time the Ford Explorer Breaux was driving left the road and struck a culvert.

Breaux was treated at Gulfport Memorial Hospital for his wounds and later released, Underwood said. Tullier, however, died at the scene. Tullier’s cause of death was the result of blunt force trauma to the head and body, said Hancock County Coroner Norma Stiglet.

Tullier was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the accident. Underwood said at this point there is no evidence that alludes to why the vehicle left the road, but the case is still under investigation.

The Sea Coast Echo reports that Tullier was the sixth traffic accident death in Hancock County in the past month.
