Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Amy Lynn Bennett Simmons, 61, of Picayune, who passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 in Picayune.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Timothy Simmons will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, she worked in Banking for several years, and was a Library Aide at Covington High School for 10 years. Amy Lynn was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She will be missed very much by her beloved pets: Layla, Salvador, Georgia, and Bandit. Amy Lynn enjoyed full moons and sunsets at the beach. She also loved “The Beatles”. 

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Amos Kent Bennett Jr. and Bessie Oswalt Bennett; and her beloved husband, Sidney Simmons.

Survivors include: her daughter, Jennifer Ann Simmons of Covington, La.; her sister, Leslie Ann Mills and husband, Arnie; and her brother, Amos Kent “Brother” Bennett III all of Picayune. Amy Lynn will be greatly missed by several cousins, aunts, and uncles, and close friends.

Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
