McComb police say a man called to report $10,000 had been stolen from his hotel room.

Officers responding to the call Friday say they found $9,370 stashed in the room’s microwave oven — along with more than two pounds of crack and powdered cocaine.

The caller, 28-year-old Denonta D. Thadison of McComb, and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Thashedrea Seals, were arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of cocaine.

Thadison, who was out on bond from a prior drug charge, was sent to the Pike County jail without bond. Seals’ bond was set at $100,000.

Police say Seals’ 16-month-old son was in the hotel room, and is now in the custody of the Department of Human Services.
