Lillian Cabra Jeane

Lillian Cabra Jeane, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Alexandria, La.
She was born April 2, 1921 in Leesville, La., the fourth of five children. Lillian was affectionately known as “Sugar” to family and friends, and she loved being around and interacting with people. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, and she never met a stranger. She was an avid reader, an intrepid traveler, and a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She was active in her church wherever she lived including First Baptist of Leesville, First Baptist of Opelika, Ala., Shades Mt. Baptist in Birmingham, Ala., First Baptist of Picayune, and most recently Liberty Baptist Church, Pineville, La. Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Percy Cabra, Sr. and Belle Parker Cabra; siblings, Percy Cabra, Jr., Howard Cabra, Arlene Lucius Burgdorf, and Fred Wingate Cabra; husband Gilmer B. Jeane, Sr. and son, Dennis K. Jeane.
She is survived by her four sons, Gilmer B. Jeane, Jr. of Wayton, Ariz., Gerald L. Jeane (Nicole) of Gretna, La., Donald G. Jeane (Karen) of Birmingham, Ala., and Larry W. Jeane (Johanne) of Pineville, La.; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Leesville, La., Sunday, July 10, 2010 at the Hixon Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Ft. Jesup Cemetery near Many, La.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Tioga Manor in Alexandria and to St. Joseph’s Hospice Care for their extraordinary care.
