Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Lee’s Chapel #1 Baptist Church for Derwin E. Spiers, 80, of Picayune, who passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 in Picayune.

Burial will be in Holliman Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Donnie Boutwell, Bro. Chris Wells, and Bro. Joshua Spiers will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, he was an Electrician and a member of Lee’s Chapel #1 Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: his father, James Nelson Spiers; his mother, Alma Voncile Spiers; and his wife, Forestine Spiers.

Survivors include: his daughter, Ruby Dianne Upton of Picayune; his son, Phil Edward Spiers of Carriere; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
