The New Orleans Saints have agreed to trade offensive tackle Jammal Brown to the Washington Redskins for an undisclosed pick in the 2011 draft.

Brown, a restricted free agent, signed a tender offer before the trade.

The 29-year-old was a first-round selection in the 2005 draft from Oklahoma. The 6-foot-6, 313-pounder was selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2006 and 2008 seasons.

After starting 58 games for the Saints in five seasons, he missed all of the 2009 season with a hip injury and a sports hernia.

Jermon Bushrod started for the Saints last season while Brown was out with his injury. Bushrod, nicknamed “Big Neck,” started 15 games during the regular season, when the Saints allowed only 20 sacks, fourth-fewest in the NFL.

The 6-foot-4, 325-pound Bushrod was a fourth-round choice in the 2007 draft, from Towson, and did not play a regular-season snap on the offensive line during his first two seasons.

Brown could provide a boost to the Redskins’ offensive line, which struggled last season as the team finished 4-12. New coach Mike Shanahan is looking for depth after the retirement of six-time Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels last season. Washington also took Trent Williams of Oklahoma with the No. 4 overall pick in April’s draft.

• Also, New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis says restricted free agent wide receiver Lance Moore has re-signed with the club.

Moore had resisted signing his one-year, $1.76 million tender from New Orleans until now because he was hoping to sign a longer deal.

Entering his seventh NFL season, Moore emerged as the Saints’ leading receiver in 2008 with 79 catches for 928 yards and 10 touchdowns. Last season, Moore was hampered by hamstring and ankle injuries, but was healthy for the playoffs, when he made five catches for 32 yards and a key 2-point conversion in the Saints’ Super Bowl win over Indianapolis.

In other moves, the Saints waived former Mississippi State running back and New Orleans-area native Christian Ducre.
