A witness says she saw a man accused of a quadruple murder in a Winona furniture store running out of the store about the time of the killings.

Clemmie Flemming was among several witnesses who testified Monday about where they saw Flowers in Winona on July 16, 1996.

Flowers is charged with the murders of 59-year-old Bertha Tardy, owner of Tardy Furniture, and three employees: 45-year-old Carmen Rigby, 42-year-old Robert Golden, and 16-year-old Derrick “BoBo” Stewart. Each was shot in the head with a .380-caliber automatic inside the store, where Flowers had worked briefly.

His uncle Doyle Simpson testified Monday that the gun was stolen from his car and that Flowers had seen it in the glove compartment.
