The Pearl River Community Band will host its annual Spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at the Picayune School District Auditorium. This will be the band’s fifth public performance since its beginning in October of 2008. Seven musical selections have been chosen by band director, Johnny Baker, who opens all of the band’s performances with what has been called a “a stunning and beautiful” version of the Star Spangled Banner, the country’s national anthem. Musical selections will include a march written by the famous comedian, Red Skelton. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations are gladly accepted.
