Mary Elizabeth Stickell, 81, of Kiln, Miss., departed this life for her Heavenly home on Friday, April 9, 2010. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at White Funeral Home in Poplarville with Brother Charles Clarke officiating. Burial will follow in McNeill Cemetery.
The daughter of J. Wiley and Irene King-Spiers, Sr., she was born July 30, 1928 in Carriere. She was a Homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, James Daniel Stickell, Jr. on January 25, 2002 whom she wed at Roseland Park Baptist Church on October 10, 1950; two brothers, J.W. Spiers and L.D. Spiers; and one sister, Thelma Foster.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Linda Thorpe and son-in-law William of Kiln; one brother, Oakley “Buddy” Spiers and sister-in-law Sylvia of Carriere; two sisters, Eugenia Taylor of Carriere and Vera Stevens of Los Angeles, Calif.; two granddaughters, Michelle Thorpe of Kiln and Danielle Hume and her husband Nicholas of Mobile, Ala.; one great-granddaughter, Angelle Faith Hume of Mobile; sister-in-law, Faye Spiers of Slidell, La.; her very dear friend, Yolanda Miller of Picayune along with several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Pallbearers will be William Thorpe, Mike O’Shaughnessy, Michael O’Shaughnessy, Andy Spiers, Wiley Spiers, Jr., and Nicholas Hume.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at White Funeral Home in Poplarville from noon until the time of services.
Mary was loved dearly and will be sorely missed by all. “One in a Million”.
