Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. in McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Raleigh “Rip” Spiers, 84, of Carriere, who passed away Friday February 26, 2010 at his home.

Burial will be in McNeill Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of McNeill, he was a Retired Aircraft Mechanic and a U.S. Navy Veteran/

He was preceded in death by: parents, Mack and Lula Barker Spiers; wife, Celeste Spiers; daughter, Carolyn Diane Spiers; and brothers, Woodrow W. Spiers and H. Doug Spiers.

Survivors include: daughters, Marilyn (Ralph) Penton of Carriere; Sheila J. (R.S.) Herrin of Picayune; son, Raleigh Wayne (Phyllis) Spiers of Carriere; grandchildren: Robby Herrin of Gonzales, La.; Rhonda Green of Mobile, Ala., Jamie Romano of Carriere, Carol Leigh Dossett of Carriere, Jillian Spiers of Carriere; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Trella Mae Pigott of Gulfport, Miss.

Visitation will be Monday, March 1, 2010 from 6:30-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
