A dispute over fireworks has led to the arrest of a Moss Point man after a bullet from a gun he fired into the air landed in his neighbor’s house.

The 27-year-old man was arrested for shooting into an occupied dwelling after an altercation with neighbors in Hattiesburg.

Police spokesman Synarus Green said that Kevin Hinton was arrested Friday night.

Green said officers on the scene reported the altercation was because someone wouldn’t stop shooting fireworks.

Police say Hinton went into the house, came outside with a handgun and fired several rounds in the air.
