A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Triumph Baptist Church, Poplarville, Miss., for Bro. Hubert Powe, 68, of Poplarville, who departed this life on January 26, 2010 at his residence.

The Rev. Tommy Hart will officiate at the service.

Bro. Powe worked as a construction worker in New Orleans, La., for many years.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Wilbert Powe and Mae Otis Williams-Stubbs; his loving and devoted wife, Evelyn Heart-Powe; and granddaughter, Jylvia Swain.

Hubert leaves to cherish his loving memories: two sons, Herbert (Josephine) Powe of Gulfport, Miss., Sheldon (Shalonda) Powe of Picayune, Miss.; three daughters, Lisa Powe-Davis, Lisa (Larry) Travis, and Marie (Aubrey) Bowden, all of Poplarville; a Godchild, Tammy (Chad) Libuttie of Pass Christian, Miss.; a nephew whom he raised, James Dunston of Poplarville; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 30, 2010, from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in the Rose Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.
