A woman suffered third-degree burns after her boyfriend allegedly set her on fire inside a vehicle in Jackson.

Forty-nine-year-old Wade Lewis of Jackson is charged with aggravated assault, according to The Clarion-Ledger.

Jackson Chief Fire Investigator Greg Travis has not released the woman’s name but did say Lewis was her boyfriend.

Lewis was arrested aroung midnight Saturday after authorities were notified of the fire. The woman was taken by ambulance to University of Mississippi Medical Center before being sent to the burn center in Augusta, Ga. A report on her condition wasn’t available.
