Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Pat Nichelson, 82, of Picayune who passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Burial will be in the New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Elder Donnie Broome will officiate at the service.

A native of Wayne County, he was a Welder/Iron Worker and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles I. and Mary Jane Nichelson.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Nichelson of Picayune; his children, Patrick H. Nichelson of Picayune, Billy Nichelson of Picayune, Judy May Willis of Denham Springs, La., Regina N. Griffin of Slidell, La., Larry Keith Nichelson of Lucedale, Patricia L. Smith of Picayune, Cecilia Coleen Pierce of Picayune and Brittney C. Nichelson of Picayune; two step-daughters, Gaylynn Hagerstrand of Picayune and Shelley Penton of Carriere; one brother, Quitman Nichelson of Hattiesburg, Miss.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.
