Manufacturing to close in Liberty

A manufacturing plant in Liberty has announced it will close, eliminating 90 jobs.
Mayor Ricky Stratton said the closure of Air Cruisers will hurt his town.
Town officials have received a letter from company president John O’Donnell informing them the plant will close permanently next year. Layoffs will begin Jan. 29 and continue until Aug. 31.
The companys smaller operation in Liberty will remain open.
Air Cruisers is a division of Zodiac Aerospace of Wall Township, N.J. It manufactures emergency life vests, rafts, slides and exits used in airplanes, and decontamination shelters for military first responders.
The company first opened a plant in Liberty in 1988.
