The city of Laurel is parking 22 city take-home vehicles at their offices.
Chief Administrative Officer Dennis Keveryn said the city won’t be cutting any services when it stops the take-home use on Dec. 24.
He says only employees who are on call will be allowed to take city vehicles home.
That includes one person in the water/sewer department operated by United Water, as well as the police chief, the two deputies chiefs and the K-9 officers, and the fire chief, the public works director and deputy director, and the recreation director.
Keveryn says the change was scheduled for Dec. 24 to give workers time to change their commuting plans.
