The Lady Tide moved to 7-2 with a 56-31 win over visiting West Harrison Tuesday, in the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Andrea Jackson paced Picayune with 17 points, while Kionna Magee added 13 to the winning cause and Tee Meyers chipped in 11.

It was the first home game of the season for the Lady Tide after eight straight road games to open the season.

“It was a good win. We got a lot of girls in the game,” first year Picayune head coach Jason Kennedy said. “We did a good job of picking up our intensity in the second half, and I am proud of our younger kids they are playing really well.”

Picayune hits the road to Hurley tonight to face East Central.

• In other action from earlier this week, St. Martin swept visiting Pearl River Central as the Lady Jackets won 55-27 as Ashley Hickman paced St. Martin with 12 points.

In the boys game, St. Martin won 71-48 although PRC’s Jordan Fairconetue tallied a game high 26 points.

Both PRC teams are competing in the Forrest County AHS Tournament Thursday and today.
