A National Guard unit from Kentucky is gearing up for its second tour of duty in Iraq, this time guarding convoys.

The 2113th Transportation Company will spend about two months at Camp Shelby, Miss., to prepare for almost 11 months in Iraq. Kentucky National Guard spokesman David Altom told The Paducah Sun the unit will provide security for convoys in Iraq.

Kentucky National Guard Adjutant Gen. Edward W. Tonini and Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo joined the soldiers’ families for a departure ceremony on Sunday at Paducah Tilghman High School.
