Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Sycamore Baptist Church for Harry L. Burge, 69, of Laurel, Miss., who passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Laurel.

Burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jewel E. Prince, the Rev. Zach Dant, the Rev. Ray Freeman and the Rev. Billy Ferrel will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, he was a Minister and he was pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Laurel.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Lawrence and Thelma Burge; one grandchild, Dusty Burge; two sisters, Billie Faye Burge and Mildred Walters; and one brother, Larry Burge.

Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Eleanor Jordan Burge of Laurel; his children: Mary (Walter) Black of Carriere, Marc (Angie) Burge of Carriere, Kevin (Rhonda) Burge of Lucedale, Miss., Jonathan (Alayne) Burge of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Larry (Allison) Burge of Lucedale; his grandchildren: Pamela (Sammy) Hayes, Heather Black, Scooter (Brittany) Black, Aaron Smith, Dusty (Jennifer) Moeller, Melissa (Jason) Bennett, Daniel Prather, Kalyn Burge, Landen Burge, Madeline Burge, Sarah Burge, Brodie Burge, Ashley Burge, Lawren Burge, and Luke Burge; and his great-grandchildren: Cadence Brady, Carli Hayes, Carsen Black, McKenna Hayes and Bragg Moeller.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.
