Christmas on the McNeill Trail fun for all

Local folks, still treasuring memories of a rare snowfall here in the south, braved the frigid air to attend the annual Christmas on the Trail in McNeill on Saturday, December 5. The lights along the trail, as always, were a pleasant sight. Something new is added each year to sparkle against the backdrop of a clear, dark night.
The trail was also filled with sounds of the season as First Baptist and surrounding McNeill churches joined together and provided a musical background for the scenery. A live nativity was also on display.
After having enjoyed a walk through the trail, adults with little ones in tow waited anxiously to visit with Santa. One by one they climbed up into his lap with letter clutched in little gloved hands and shared their secret wishes for Christmas. Cocoa and cookies, like a prize, waited those who endured the cold. The cocoa was as much a handwarmer as a beverage as the temperature dipped into the low 30s.
The annual event is gladly sponsored by committee members and friends of the trail board of McNeill. Please visit our new website at http://mcneilltrailclubspaces.com
