Real estate brokers say home sales in the north Mississippi university town of Oxford are slowly perking up after a rough drop last year.
Brokers Blake Cannon and Jordan Bankhead said that 19 homes sold in November, down three from the 22 sold in October.
Among sales that closed, the average list price was $199,657, while the average selling price was $186,631.
The residential real estate market expanded for much of this decade in Oxford, party because of University of Mississippi sports fans buying condominiums or weekend homes. For a while, the supply of homes outpaced demand.
Cannon says the market is now showing slow, steady growth.
